Where is Bavaro Beach?


Playa Bavaro is located on the east coast of the island of Dominican Republic. Along with Punta Cana and other nearby beaches, Playa Bávaro is part of the Costa del Coco, a 37 mile stretch of beaches filled with coconut palms and warm waters.

  • Gastronomy. The cuisine of the Dominican Republic offers a wide variety of dishes which have Taino, African and Spanish influences. Some typical Creole dishes are "moro" (rice mixed with beans or pigeon peas), the "chambre," "caramelized ripe plantains" (seasoned with sugar and cinnamon) and "beans with sweets" a dessert very typical during Lent.
