IBEROSTAR LAUNCHES TRAVEL INSURANCE WITH MEDICAL COVERAGE FOR ITS ONLINE AND CALL CENTER CLIENTS

Advantages of Iberostar Extra Care include medical and surgical assistance, extension of hotel stay; coverage of expenses of the insured and companions, if needed; as well as repatriation for medical reasons.
The insurance is automatically applied to bookings made via www.iberostar.com, the company’s Contact Center and Iberostar Pro travel agencies platform.
The hotel chain continues to reinforce its safety and health protocols developed by its Medical Advisory Board.

In line with its How We Care initiative, Iberostar Hotels & Resorts launches Iberostar Extra Care Insurance, a free of charge travel insurance with medical coverage for bookings made via the company’s Contact Center, iberostar.com website and Iberostar Pro travel agencies platform at any of Iberostar’s more than 100 hotels. Through this initiative, the hotel chain reinforces its commitment to protect its clients, complementing its more than 300 safety and health measures developed by the company’s Medical Advisory Board  and implemented throughout its properties around the world. These measures aim to innovate in health and safety to create resilience in the long term, providing an excellent vacation experience for all guests.

Iberostar Extra Care insurance, included automatically in all bookings made via Iberostar’s owned channels and Iberosta Pro travel agencies platform, aims to provide guests with peace of mind during their next vacations and offers, among other benefits as needed: medical expenses incurred in case of sickness or accident (including Covid-19) up to 40,000 euros; extension of hotel stay of companion for hospitalization of the insured (including Covid-19); repatriation; medical transportation services for sick or injured individuals; emergency transfer to a hospital; emergency dental expenses; medical guidance services; expenses of the insured’s companion stay in clinic and doctor's transfer to the hotel.

The new insurance is an initiative developed by Iberostar Group and Aon (which will provide its services through Europ Assistance and Open Health) and is effective from guest check-in to check-out.

The How We Care initiative is based on four pillars: safe environment, hygiene standards, innovative experience and social spaces. The program has been designed in line with the company’s responsible tourism model and circular economy policies promoted through Wave of Change for the care of the environment and the oceans. Iberostar values the implementation of its How We Care program and security measures in the operation of its hotels to eliminate the risks associated with a pandemic. Iberostar prioritizes quality as a differential factor for its guests and provides a responsible, diversified customer experience through its care for the environment and people. As a result, the company has incorporated health safety as another pillar to its business model and customer and employee experience and has opted for sustainability as an engine to recovery.
