In a challenging year marked by uncertainty, we are pleased to report that Grupo Iberostar has closed 2021 in a positive way. In terms of economic profitability, the recovery of tourism in the second half of last year mitigated the situation of the previous months.
We face 2022 with optimism and confidence, but also with prudence. After investing in the refurbishment of our hotels in 2021 and opening our first urban hotel in Lima and a new hotel in Cayo Cruz (Cuba), we are moving forward with organic growth projects to continue generating value through an improved portfolio in the vacational segment. Thus, we plan to grow in hotels and resorts in destinations where the company is already present as well as entering new destinations, applying all the knowledge acquired in terms of sustainability and following our own Agenda 2030.
We continue to work hard to lead a model of responsible, regenerative and quality tourism, prioritising the satisfaction of our customers.
