Alagoas is a small state, whose capital is Maceió, situated in the north-east of Brazil and is composed of 102 municipal districts. The northern coastline of Maceió is currently experiencing a surge in tourism and the beautiful white, sandy beaches, the hundreds of palm trees and its magnificent climate complete a landscape which is second to none – on a par with the Caribbean. The state of Alagoas also boasts the second largest barrier reef in the world which creates spectacular natural pools around the coast.
Iberostar Hotels & Resorts continues its constant search for business opportunities to continue its expansion and growth in two ways: new destinations to add to its portfolio and growth in destinations in which it already operates. This most recent agreement signed by the company is a combination of both, because although this will be the company's fourth hotel in Brazil, it will be its first in the Alagoas region, the second most significant tourist destination in the country.
The new hotel joins the existing portfolio of properties in Brazil including; The Iberostar Grand Hotel-Ship Amazon, Iberostar Selection Praia do Forte and Iberostar Bahía.
